Shannon Cuddle® fabric, known for its luxurious softness, may shed fibers when cut, a common characteristic of plush fabrics. This shedding, often referred to as "Cuddle® dust," is typically temporary and can be managed effectively. 

Tips to Minimize Shedding:

• Cutting Technique: Use a sharp blade, such as a snap-off knife or scalpel-style seam ripper, to cut along the edge of your ruler or draw the cutting line on the wrong side first. Cut from the wrong side, then gently pull apart the fabric. This method reduces the amount of loose fibers

• Post-Cutting Care: After cutting, place the fabric in a dryer with a damp washcloth on no or low heat for about 10 minutes. This process helps remove excess fibers, significantly reducing shedding during subsequent handling and sewing

• Work Area Maintenance: Keep a portable hand vacuum nearby to clean up any loose fibers from your cutting surface, preventing them from spreading to other areas.
